Hello Friends, Over the next few months, my newsletters will focus on the world of interior design, giving you tips and ideas for your own interior spaces. Later this summer I will be offering interior design courses. When I send out more information next month, I would love to hear from anyone who is interested in participating or wants to find out more. Until then, here are some tips about starting the design process with an inspiring mood board! A mood board (or sample board) is a visual aid which helps you (or your client) to refine those initial ideas for a design scheme and present a vision for the space. The board will consist of a collage of fabrics, materials, images and finishes to represent the colours, textures, furniture and accessories which will be used in the final scheme. Assembling samples on a board provides an early opportunity to assess whether the colours and textures work well and whether there is a good distribution of colour and texture throughout the space. As the mood board is portable, the samples can be viewed in different lights. Preparing a Sample Board: 6 Points to Remember
